DeKalb County Schools K-12
Three public school districts encompass the county. These districts include
7 elementary schools, 2 middle schools, 3 high schools and one junior-senior high school. Garrett-Keyser-Butler also offers a vocational cooperative and special education cooperative. In addition, there is a PK-6 Catholic school, St. Joseph, and a private PK-12 school, Lakeside. The three public school districts are:

Higher Education
DeKalb County and the surrounding area offer many higher education opportunities. Indiana University - Purdue University at Fort Wayne
(IPFW), Indiana Tech and University of Saint Francis in nearby Fort Wayne, allow students to pursue either four-year degrees or obtain Masters degrees. Concordia University, Taylor University and Indiana Wesleyan University are well known for their liberal arts educations, and technical education is available at Indiana Vocational College, Ivy Tech Community College, Trine
University, International Business College, Harrison College and Brown Mackie College. All of these institutions allow students to obtain a degree, certificate or merely broaden their educational horizons through traditional or flexible scheduling.
