Waterloo

The town of Waterloo was established in 1856, during the era of construction of what is now known as Norfolk Southern Railway Company.

Waterloo has acres of land available for industrial and commercial development at one of the last undeveloped interchanges along I-69 in northeast Indiana.

The community also offers a modern elementary school, with the junior and senior high schools just a few miles outside of town. Waterloo offers the advantages of a small town, such as affordable housing and atmosphere, but is close to major shopping facilities, recreational activities, and other conveniences of modern life.

A local park with a pavilion, a community-built playground, baseball diamonds, as well as many clubs and organizations which are committed to a positive community spirit.

A town marshal leads the police department. The town’s street, sewer and water departments are supervised by a superintendent. Waterloo owns and operates its municipal sewer and water utilities. The Waterloo Police Station as well as the town hall is located in the heart of downtown, with the fire station just one block to the west.

A town manager helps oversee activities in town and implement projects, including economic development.

We hope you will visit our town soon and see for yourself what we have to offer.
